NIACC men in second after Day One, Olson leads with a 72

"Our guys really finished well today now we have to take care of business tomorrow, play our game, and give it the best we got," NIACC golf coach Chris Frenz said.

NIACC sophomore Dalton Olson is the day one leader shooting a 34-38 - 72 while freshman Levi Fink is tied for second with a 37-37 - 74.

"Outstanding efforts (Monday) by Dalton and Levi," Frenz said. "They've been a great one-two punch all season long. The way Joe Myers came back on the tough back 9 was awesome after shooting a 44 on the front, following that with a 39."

Also for NIACC, Jacob Urdahl shot a 37-41 - 78, Joe Myers shot a 44-39 - 83 and Kevin Trobaugh shot a 42-45 - 87.

"I said coming in to this tournament that it was anybody's tournament to win," Frenz said, "and I like our chances heading into day two.

"We put ourselves in the position we wanted, now we just need to go out and perform the way we know we can and good things can happen."

The second round of the tournament starts at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
