2024 NJCAA Men's Bowling Championships Recap

Iowa Western took runner up at the NJCAA National Bowling Championships last week, finishing behind four-time reigning champion Rock Valley (Ill.)

The Reivers finished 456 pins behind the Eagles and 26 pins ahead of in-conference rival Iowa Central, who took third. Hawkeye took 12th of the 19 teams participating. 

Individually, the ICCAC was led in the Men's All-Events by Dawson Weber of Iowa Central who finished in third place to earn All-American status. Weber took 21st in the Men's Singles, totalling 565 in three games. His best game was 224 of those three. In doubles, with Easton Lee, Weber tossed a 226 and a 203 to garner a three-game 587. Then in the team games (six total) Weber rolled four of six games in the 200s, including a 233, his event-high. 

In all, Weber averaged 193.7, third-best at the Championships. 

Joining Weber as an All-American was Iowa Western's Casey Montgomery who took sixth place averaging 192.3 in 12 games. His top game of 214 happened in Men's Doubles. Eight of Montgomery's 12 games were 190 or higher, showing consistency throughout the event. 

Other ICCAC Bowlers to place in the top 20 were Trey Hanke (182.1 - 16th) of Iowa Western and Ryder Fleming (180.7 - 17th) of Hawkeye. There were 149 total bowlers scored in the All-Event list.
