Iowa Western Hits the Lanes in Hastings

Both Iowa Western teams finished 10th at the Bronco Bash hosted by Hastings (Neb.) College over the weekend.

The men's team finished 725 total pins off the pace of Midland University who took the tournament team title.

The women were able to keep it slightly closer at -580 pins, but nobody was able to challenge for the top spot that was claimed by Grand View University. 

There were some top-25 indidvidual performances for both of the Reiver squads.

Aidan Tisdall averaged 190 over the course of his four games. His grand total of 760 was good enough for a 17th place finish in the men's individual competition.

The other solid outing came from Johnathan Hemmingsen with a grand total of 734, averaging 183.5 for his games. 

On the women's side of things, Marissa Kearin and Carrington Meek were the top bowlers for Iowa Western. Kearin had a total of 709 with an average of 177.25, which put her in 16th place out of 83 total competitors. Meek finished in 22nd with a 171.5 average for a grand total of 686. 

Iowa Western along with Iowa Central are back in action on Feb. 6 and 7 at the Mid States Championships. Hawkeye will be at the McKendree Baker Challenge in Fairview Heights, Ill.
