Five Take Home All-American Honors for Men's Basketball

The NJCAA announced the 2023-24 All-American Teams for Men's Basketball on Tuesday, with six Region 11 players making the cut from Division I and II.

From Division I, Indian Hills placed their top two guards on the list in Trevion LaBeaux and Davontae Hall.

For the season, Labeaux, a First Team selection, averaged 13.3 points per game while shooting 51.8% from the field. He was the ICCAC's top rebounder per game at 9.5 --- 24th in the country. He had 304 total rebounds which was top 20 in the NJCAA. The ICCAC Player of the Year was the top player on the Warriors who reached the NJCAA Division I FInal Four this season. 

Hall averaged 11.7 points a game in the 35 games he appeared in. Hall shot 35% from behind the arc and averaged 2.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. Hall received Honorable Mention honors.

Headlining the list for Division II was the 2023-24 ICCAC Player of the Year Angelo Winkel. The DMACC forward from Algona, Iowa, received First Team recognition and led the Bears to their fourth share of the regular season conference title in the last five years and fourth NJCAA Tournament bid in the same period. 

Winkel averaged 16.9 points per game, 7.1 rebounds and shot 60.2 percent from the field (30th in NJCAA). The sophomore collected nine double-doubles throughout the season and only scored single digits twice. 

Same West of Iowa Lakes was also named an All-American, a Second Team selection. West was a do-it-all player for the Lakers who averaged 15.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. He was top 20 in the NJCAA in steals with 73 total, and had 138 assists, top 40 in the country. 

Another Second Team selection and rounding out the ICCAC's players on this year's list was Ellsworth's Mobi Ikegwuruka. Ikegwuruka averaged 19 points per game while shooting 59.4% from the field. The freshman played just 21 games, but made a huge impact on the Panthers Final Four run at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.
